Dhan · DhanHQ v2
Dhan copy trading, built on DhanHQ v2
Link your Dhan accounts, mark one as the parent, and every order it places is mirrored into the others with your own multiplier applied to each. Child accounts can sit at any supported broker.
Integration
How QuantGrid connects to Dhan
QuantGrid connects to DhanHQ v2 and listens on its live order-update feed, which reports every order on the account including ones you place in the Dhan app itself. Orders are placed over the v2 REST API. Dhan offers both a sign-in page and an unattended daily login, so you choose which you prefer, and it is one of only two supported brokers that state in their own documentation that the static-IP whitelist accepts an IPv6 address as well as an IPv4 one.
QuantGrid subscribes to Dhan's live order-update feed for your parent account, which reports every order on that account as it happens. That includes orders you place yourself in the Dhan app: the feed does not distinguish between them, so a trade you take on your phone is copied exactly like one placed through an API.
Child orders go over the v2 REST API. Dhan names an instrument by its own numeric security ID rather than by a symbol, so QuantGrid holds their published instrument list and resolves it for you, and translates symbols and product types between brokers on the way through.
- Order updates arrive on Dhan's live order feed, and report orders placed anywhere, not just through QuantGrid
- Equity and F&O on NSE, BSE, NFO and BFO
- Sign in through Dhan once a day, or let QuantGrid do it for you if you have TOTP enabled on the account
- Stop-loss market orders copy to a Dhan account, which not every supported broker accepts
- Instruments are addressed by Dhan's own security IDs, which QuantGrid resolves from their published instrument list
- Dhan requires the address orders arrive from to be registered, and it accepts an IPv4 or an IPv6 address for it
- Cross-broker replication: a Dhan account can be a parent or a child

Connect Dhan in three steps
Setup is a one-time job and usually takes a few minutes. Nothing is replicated until you explicitly link a parent to a child and save a multiplier.
- 01
Create an app on the DhanHQ developer portal
Register an app and paste in the redirect URL that QuantGrid shows you. Copy the API key and secret back into QuantGrid, and fill in your Dhan client ID: Dhan needs it before a sign-in can start, which is unusual among the supported brokers.
- 02
Register your dedicated address
QuantGrid assigns your account a dedicated static IP. Add it to the app's static IP setting exactly as shown. Dhan accepts both families and QuantGrid issues Dhan accounts an IPv6 address, which is the cheaper one. Check it before you save: Dhan will not let the address be changed again for seven days.
- 03
Link accounts and set your rules
Mark one account as the parent, add your child accounts, and set a copy factor and max quantity for each one. Replication starts on the next order the parent places.

Authorisation
Sessions, tokens and revoking access on Dhan
Broker sessions are governed by the broker, not by QuantGrid. Here is exactly how that behaves so nothing surprises you at 9:15 in the morning.
You choose how you sign in
Dhan, Upstox and Nuvama Wealth all offer both. Sign in through Dhan's own page once a day, the way Zerodha and FYERS work, or let QuantGrid sign in for you each morning. Nothing about replication changes either way.
Automatic sign-in needs TOTP on your Dhan account
Without TOTP, Dhan's second factor is a code sent to your phone, and nothing unattended can read one. Enable TOTP on the account, store the setup key here with your Dhan PIN, and QuantGrid signs in before the market opens. If it ever fails, the sign-in link still works.
One session at a time, lasting 24 hours
Dhan issues an access token valid for 24 hours from when it was created, and keeps one active at a time. QuantGrid records the expiry Dhan itself reports rather than assuming a fixed hour, and either renews the session for you or asks you to sign in, depending on which you chose.
One static IP, reserved to your account
Your API traffic leaves from a dedicated static IP address that is never shared with another customer. Where a broker lets you restrict API access to a whitelisted address, you have one stable address to whitelist, and your activity is never mixed with anyone else's. See the security practices.
Pairing
Running Dhan alongside the other live brokers
A Dhan account works as a parent or as a child, in any combination with the other supported brokers. Every order type this platform models reaches a Dhan child in its own form, a plain market order included, with nothing substituted for it. Its static-IP whitelist takes an IPv6 address as readily as an IPv4 one, and it exempts reading your order book from that whitelist altogether, so a parent account keeps being watched even if the address ever falls out of registration.
Dhan as parent
Drive children at any live broker
Orders placed in your Dhan parent account replicate into child accounts at Dhan, Zerodha, Angel One, FYERS, Groww, Motilal Oswal, Upstox, Nuvama Wealth, ICICI Direct, Kotak, Tradejini and IIFL, each with its own copy factor and max-quantity cap.
Dhan as child
Follow a parent at another broker
A Dhan account can equally be the follower. A parent at Zerodha or Angel One or FYERS or Groww or Motilal Oswal or Upstox or Nuvama Wealth or ICICI Direct or Kotak or Tradejini or IIFL drives it, with symbol and product-type translation applied automatically on every order.
See the full parent and child matrix for every supported combination.
Pricing
What Dhan replication costs
One price per broker account you connect: its dedicated static IP, with every feature included. Dhan's API accepts IPv6, so that is what its accounts are issued, at the lower of the two prices. There is no platform fee, no per-child software surcharge and no share of anything you trade.
Dedicated static IPv6
Every feature included₹500per 30 days + 18% GST
per broker account
What your account is issued wherever the broker accepts IPv6.
Dedicated static IPv4
Every feature included₹800per 30 days + 18% GST
per broker account
What your account is issued where the broker cannot take IPv6.
